A mixer homogenises the paint. A gyroscopic mixer rotates a closed container around two axes. The appropriate model depends on the material, container dimensions and required mixing volume.

No. A tinting machine dispenses pigments according to a formula. A mixer or shaker homogenises the paint. A tinting workplace usually needs both stages.
